Peter Maher will co-present the session, “Truancy prevention: Giving kids a chance to succeed,” at Lehigh University’s 44th Special Education Law Conference.
This session will discuss several key questions about truancy including:
- What are the compulsory school attendance laws and how they are applied in Pennsylvania and New Jersey?
- What are the legal, educational, economic, and social impacts of truancy?
- What are the most effective strategies for curbing truancy?
This one-day program provides a variety of session offerings about special education law for education leaders, attorneys, mental health agencies, caseworkers, social workers, and hearing officers.
