In an interview with SpecialEdConnection, he points out that recent changes in state laws regarding the protection and use of student information include minimum standards. In addition to urging school districts to review reporting timeframes required in their agreements with consultants and contractors so they are notified quickly if a breach has occurred, Mr. Roberts recommends having a response plan in place.
