An Ohio teacher who was to face a disciplinary hearing for writing the word “loser” on a student’s arm has resigned from her position. According to the teacher’s attorney, on March 30, 2010, the 28-year-old teacher wrote on a second-grade student’s arm in washable marker after the student had joked that he wanted to write “loser” on the teacher. The allegations are similar to an incident that occurred earlier this year in which a North Carolina teacher was suspended without pay for two weeks after writing the word “loser” on a student’s school work.
