teacherevaluationimageIt has been nearly five years since the Connecticut General Assembly adopted Public Act 12-116 titled An Act Concerning Educational Reform, and most importantly, made changes to Section 10-151b regarding the teacher evaluation process.  Changes to Section 10-151b provide that the annual evaluation of teachers must now be conducted in accordance with the guidelines for teacher and administrator evaluation adopted by the Connecticut State Board of Education, which presents challenges and opportunities.  This complimentary seminar will review the requirements concerning the evaluation of teachers and administrators and related changes in the Teacher Tenure Act.  We will also discuss practical steps for addressing performance concerns in light of the new requirements.  Presenters will discuss:

  • Statutory requirements for evaluation of educators
  • Related changes in the Teacher Tenure Law
  • Connecticut’s System for Educator Evaluation and Development (SEED) model
  • Practical advice for addressing teacher performance concerns
  • Avoiding and/or resolving related union conflicts

This program is intended for:  Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Executive Directors, Human Resource Professionals, Personnel Directors, Principals and Board of Education Chairs.

Please contact us in advance if registering more than 4 attendees from your district.

In case of inclement weather, the seminar will be rescheduled and a snow date will be communicated to registrants.
